Privacy notice for business contacts
Why we emailed your business, what we know about it, where we got it, how long we keep it and how to stop our emails.
In short
- We write to some businesses that may need a new website. Each email is sent by a person, one business at a time.
- We hold only details about your business: its name, type, city and country, the email address and phone number it published, where we found them, whether it has a working website, and the dates of our emails.
- We found them on OpenStreetMap and on the business's own public pages.
- To stop our emails, reply "stop" or write to ensar@webeaut.com. We will not write again.
- We do not sell or share your details for advertising.
Who is responsible
Webeaut Media d.o.o. Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina Email: ensar@webeaut.comWhat data we hold
For each business we contact, we keep:
- the business name, type of business, city and country,
- the business email address we wrote to,
- the business phone number, if it is listed on OpenStreetMap,
- the link to the public entry where we found it,
- what we found when we checked whether the business has a working website, and the date of the check,
- the dates of our emails and your reply, if you reply.
Many addresses are general business mailboxes, such as info@, or a Gmail address in the business's name. Some contain a person's name. Any address that names or belongs to a person is personal data, and this notice applies to it in full.
Where we got it
- OpenStreetMap, where the business is listed with its email address. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License.
- The business's own public website or social media page.
- Public business registers, only to check that the address belongs to a company.
Why we use it and on what basis
We use these details to offer our website design service to your business. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in offering our services to businesses (Article 6(1)(f) of the EU and UK GDPR). We think a short, relevant offer sent to a published business address is something a business can reasonably expect, and we make it easy to say no. You can object at any time, and we then stop.
We do not use your details for anything else, we do not make automated decisions about you, and we do not sell or share them for advertising.
How to stop our emails
Reply "stop" (or "no", or "unsubscribe") to any of our emails, or write to ensar@webeaut.com. We stop the same day and keep only your email address and business domain on a do-not-contact list, so that we never write to you again.
How long we keep it
- If we decide not to write to a business, we delete its details within 60 days after we collected them.
- If you do not reply, we delete your details 60 days after our last email.
- If you reply and are interested, we keep the conversation for as long as we talk, and at most 12 months after our last contact, unless we start working together.
- The do-not-contact list is kept for as long as we send business emails, because it is the only way to make sure we do not write to you again.
Who else handles it
- Google (Gmail): we send and receive email through Gmail.
- Cloudflare: forwards email sent to webeaut.com addresses and hosts our website.
- Anthropic (Claude): an AI assistant we use to sort public listings and prepare email drafts.
We are in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Neither the European Commission nor the UK government has found that Bosnia and Herzegovina gives adequate protection, so your details are handled outside the EU and the UK. Google, Cloudflare and Anthropic may also process them in the USA, under their own terms.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict its use, or you can object to its use. Write to ensar@webeaut.com, if you can from the address we wrote to, so we can see the request is yours.
You can also complain to the data protection authority in your country, for example your national authority in the EU or the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK.
Changes
If we change how we handle these details, we update this page and the date at the top.
